FRIDAY - Santa Anita
#3 MARCKIE'S WATER is a former Stakes runner (in 2019) and has broke poorly in his last efforts and needs a good start even on this drop into this $25k claimer for Tim Yakteen and Abel Cedillo. #4 NOBLE THOUGHT needed his last race and drops into a competitive spot for Robert Falcone and Umberto Rispoli. #1 FULL OF LUCK stretches back out after running in a sprint in his first start of 2021 for Steve Miyadi.
Trifecta : 3-4 / 3-4-1 / 3-4-1-2-8-9
SATURDAY - Santa Anita
In a race with a ton of legitimate contenders, invading #9 RIDE A COMET goes for his fifth straight win for Mark Casse with Drayden Van Dyke riding. #2 HIT THE ROAD gets tested for class but is going for his third straight win and getting better with every race for Dan Blacker with Florent Geroux in the saddle. #1 SMOOTH LIKE STRAIT, the Graded runner that was chosen to ride by Umberto Rispoli over the second choice, is a solid turf runner who is a head away from going for his fourth straight win for Mike McCarthy.
Trifecta : 9-2 / 9-2-1 / 9-2-1-6-7-8
TAMPA BAY - Race 11 - The Tampa Bay Derby
#3 CANDY MAN ROCKET is the Bill Mott trained Sam F Davis winner (a prep for this race) and figures as the one to beat.
Trifecta : 3 / 11-10-8-4 / 11-10-8-4-12-2
AQUEDUCT - Race 9 - The Gotham Stakes
In this one turn Mile prep for the Wood Memorial (NY’s Kentucky Derby prep), the top choices
come from the east and west coasts. The local choice is #3 HIGHLY MOTIVATED, a Chad Brown trainee who is a neck away from being undefeated in three races. This one stretches out to a mile after a win at Keeneland in November. The other main contender is the west coast invader from the Bob Baffert barn, #7 FREEDOM FIGHTER. This one just missed in the Grade 2 San Vicente and has been working well since that effort.
Trifecta : 3-7 / 3-7-6 / 3-7-6-5-4-1
SUNDAY - Santa Anita
#7 LADY NOGUEZ shows good turf form and drops back in distance for Vladimir Cerin and Umberto Rispoli. #3 OLE SILVER just missed by a nose at this level last time out and figures right back for Phil D'Amato and Alexis Centeno. #1 INVINCIBELLA finished behind the second choice and should improve with the extra half furlong for Peter Miller and Juan Hernandez.
Trifecta : 7-3-1 / 7-3-1 / 7-3-1-2-8-(4)
